Controller

Controller

Pontem Contractors, a Heavy/Highway Bridge contractor based out of Indianapolis, has an immediate opening for an experienced Controller. We are looking for a self-starting individual, highly motivated and capable of working with people of various levels in a proactive manner. Compensation: Competitive salary with complete benefits package including Health, Dental, Vision, 401k.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct Accounts Receivable functions.
  • Oversight of Accounts Payable and Payroll functions.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the preparation of monthly and year-end internal financialstatements including budget to actual analysis, development of annual budget and forecasting.
  • Corporate Insurance – policy renewals and insurance claims.
  • Audits – prepare documentation, schedules and confirmations.
  • Taxes – quarterly filings, personal property, W-2 and 1099 reporting.

Education and Experience:

  • BS Degree in Accounting.
  • 5 years of experience in construction accounting including project budgets, job costing and jobanalysis.
  • Technically savvy with experience in construction accounting software, word processing andspreadsheets.
  • Must possess professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • High integrity, moral character, behavior and traits that instill trust.
  • Decision-making/strategic thinking skills – excellent problem-solving skills.

Bridge Superintendent

Bridge Superintendent

Pontem Contractors, a Heavy Highway/Bridge contractor based out of Indianapolis, has an immediate opening for an experienced Bridge Superintendent. Projects are typically located throughout Central Indiana.

Compensation: $70-95k/year with competitive benefit package including Health, Dental, Vision, 401k, company truck, phone and computer.

Responsibilities include:

  • Take the lead regarding Safety and Quality Control.
  • Direct supervision of union trades people
  • Provide leadership and establish working relationships with all onsite personnel including employees, subcontractors, suppliers, RPRs, inspectors and the public.
  • Coordinate with all utilities in conflict or otherwise impacted by the project
  • Schedule subcontractors and vendors in critical path to ensure timely completion.
  • Recognize and resolve conflicts in construction progress.
  • Preside over weekly progress meetings.
  • Ensure the jobsite is well-kept and organized.
  • Complete and maintain daily field log accurately detailing employee hours, work performed and quantities completed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 years experience in Heavy/Highway Bridge construction with a minimum of 4 of those years in a supervisory role.
  • Ability to take ownership, develop solutions to complex problems and meet deadlines without sacrificing quality.
  • Proficient in understanding construction plans, specifications, scheduling and job cost reports.
  • Familiarity with INDOT Standard Drawings and Specifications.
  • OSHA 10 Hour, CPR, First Aid, Fall Protection and Trenching certifications.
  • ATSSA Traffic Control Supervisor preferred.
  • SWQCP Level 1 preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of the setup and operation of Gomaco 450X finish machines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Forman

Foreman

Pontem Contractors, a Heavy Highway/Bridge contractor based out of Indianapolis, has an immediate opening for a Foreman/Leadman. Projects are typically located throughout Central Indiana. Candidate must be willing to learn, adaptable and able to thrive in a fast paced, high pressure environment.

Compensation and Benefits based on local union wage scales (+).

Responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with the Superintendent to ensure all work is in accordance with the plans and specifications.
  • Take the lead regarding Safety and Quality Control.
  • Supervise a crew of union trades people.
  • Recognize and assist in the resolution of conflicts in construction progress.
  • Ensure the jobsite is well-kept and organized.
  • Complete and maintain daily field log accurately detailing employee hours, work performed and quantities completed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years experience in Heavy/Highway Bridge construction.
  • Ability to understand construction plans and specifications.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Must have good organizational and problem solving skills.
  • Familiarity with INDOT Standard Drawings and Specifications.
  • OSHA 10 Hour training preferred.
